From Desperation to Discovery
I never imagined losing my edges. But... four months after having my baby girl, I woke up one morning, looked in the mirror — and they were gone.
For weeks my hair had been breaking. I would see handfuls come out with every wash or comb, but that morning it became undeniable. I felt devastated.
BEFORE
My textured 4C hair was drying out, breaking off, and refusing to thrive
It wasn’t just postpartum hair loss. I was also living in a dry climate, and the tap water where we lived was hard, full of minerals that stripped my hair even more.
The Turning Point
Instead of giving up, I went back to what I knew: the kitchen.
I started mixing natural, edible, plant-based ingredients I had trusted before. Things that kept moisture locked in. Out of that moment, the very first bottle of Adovz Moisturizing Spray was born.

I would spray it before applying my homemade butter, and within weeks, I saw my edges slowly come back.
My hair started growing out softer, easier to comb through, and my curls more defined — like baby hair.
Backed by Science, Rooted in Nature
When we realized we're onto something, we met with a Black, natural hair chemist — who studied Black hair. She helped refine the formula: what to add, what to remove, how to get the moisture retention just right.
Then we sent samples to the lab for months of testing. That step changed everything. The formula wasn’t just homemade anymore — it was carefully crafted, rooted in science, but still 100% natural and food-grade.
